PIE has supported Honor Flights since 2011, continuing its long tradition of honoring veterans on the same airfield that trained WWII fighter pilots when it was Pinellas Army Airfield. This event gives the community a chance to show gratitude to local Veterans who served our country.
“Honor Flight of West Central Florida is proud to give these deserving Veterans the opportunity to visit the memorials that stand in tribute to their service and sacrifice,” said Tracy Luchtenberg, President, Honor Flight of West Central Florida. “We invite our community to show their support by wearing patriotic colors and joining us for a heartfelt and memorable Welcome Home celebration.”
“It is an honor for PIE to host this important community event,” said Airport Director Mark Sprague. “We welcome everyone to join us in thanking these Veterans.”
