PIE has supported Honor Flights since 2011, continuing its long tradition of honoring veterans on the same airfield that trained WWII fighter pilots when it was Pinellas Army Airfield. This event gives the community a chance to show gratitude to local Veterans who served our country. Additional Honor Flights in 2026 are scheduled for June 9, September 15, and October 20.
“Honor Flight of West Central Florida is proud to start our 2026 season by bringing these heroes to reflect at their memorials,” said Tracy Luchtenberg, President, Honor Flight of West Central Florida. “Please wear your patriotic colors and join us in giving our Veterans an uplifting Welcome Home.”
“It is an honor for PIE to host this important community event,” said Interim Airport Director Mark Sprague. “We welcome everyone to join us in thanking these Veterans.”
