West Central Florida Veterans Honor Flight Cancelled on October 22nd and Will Resume in 2025 at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE)
The Honor Flight planned for Tuesday, October 22nd has been cancelled due to the impacts of Hurricane Helene and Milton.
Honor Flight of West Central Florida President Tracy Luchtenberg states “Honor Flight of West Central Florida is heartbroken to announce that our October 22nd flight, Welcome Home Celebration and Orientation on October 19th are cancelled due to the impact of multiple hurricanes that have hit the counties we serve.
We want to provide the very best experience to our Veterans and unfortunately the devastation left by the hurricanes prevents us from doing so. We appreciate your understanding and support as this was a very hard decision to make. We look forward to seeing you next year!”
The 52nd Honor Flight for the West Central Florida chapter and the 50th for St. Pete-Clearwater Int’l Airport will be rescheduled in the spring of 2025. There are typically four Honor Flight events per year.
Airport Director Tom Jewsbury states, “We look forward to the return of our Honor Flights next year and wish everyone our best in recovering and building back our communities.”
