The St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport surpassed its all-time annual passenger record, posting 1,161,187 passengers from January-October 2004. This represents over 75,000 more passengers than the previous record set back in 1995 and two of our busiest months of the year are still ahead! Our 2004 year-to-date numbers boast a 46% increase over 2003. In addition, for the 13th consecutive month, PIE set a new airport record for monthly passenger traffic.
According to Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Traffic Report, PIE is one of the fastest growing airports in North America with a #1 ranking for 12 month passenger percentage increases and a #3 ranking for YTD passenger traffic growth. In October, PIE served 92,743 passengers with Domestic Traffic up 10% and International Traffic up 32%.
St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport continues to make travel easy and convenient while providing air service to destinations in demand by the traveling public. “We want to take this opportunity to thank our customers and air carriers for supporting the Airport and making this a record breaking year,” Airport Director Noah Lagos states.
